Last month we got a swimming pool and put it up on the terrace. I am so glad we got it because Adrian really likes the water, like I have mentioned earlier Adrian cries when I get him out of the bath tub. Now when ever we walk around the pool area he starts to kick and gets excited. If I just walk away he start to cry, it's so funny. I have a video of him in the water I'll be posting it soon! I would like to take advantage of the fact the Adrian likes the water and teach him to swim. I know not all babies like water and some cry when they get water on their face, but he doesn't mind it one bit. The first time Adrian went into a pool was during vacations in Ixapa. I would say "123" and blow on his face and then I'd put him in the water, he wouldn't cry actually he would come up with a smile on his face,ha! So when we got the pool I tried to do it again and he didn't like it at all. But I kept trying and now he doesn't seem to mind it as much. He knows I'm going to put him under the water when I say "123" cause he makes a funny face every time. I would have loved to keep putting him in the water but at the time it was winter here and we didn't have the pool yet. So know that we have the pool I want to take advantage and teach him to swim.
So now every day I take him to the pool for at least one hour. I looked up how to teach babies to swim on the Internet and found some pretty good stuff. One of the best things I found was a video of an 18 month old baby swimming completely unaided! There are some good videos with tips on YouTube so I saw a few. I'm considering purchasing a book on how to teach babies to swim. I think that teaching babies to swim is so good because not only do they get a good exercise but they have to learn coordination. It also gives you peace to know that if your child were to fall in a large body of water he would survive and not drown. Can you believe that babies can learn to swim before they learn to even walk? I thought that was pretty cool. So I got some tips on how to teach babies to swim from the Internet and I have been trying some of them with Adrian. Just simple little steps. I feel very confident in the water I don't feel nervous at all when I put him in the water.

Ufff, so much to catch up on. well one of the most important things that happened, Adrian got Roseola, his first childhood decease. He had a fever for about three days and got it pretty high. One day after he seemed all better I noticed he had red spots all over his torso. I thought that maybe it was a heat rash. But we went to the pediatrician and she said it was roseola. I didn't really want to take him to the pediatrician cause with this whole swine flu thing going on I was concerned about taking him out. But he didn't get the swine flu, he got roseola. So it's not a very serious thing, it happens mainly to babies and toddlers under the age of 3. so I'm glad it wasn't so bad.
Adrian also has his two top teeth! he looks soooo cute and naughty. I have a funny story to tell.
So I was nursing Adrian and he has a hand that is just swinging around, he pulls some of my hair and I yell "Ouch, Adrian that hurts" and I tell him not to do it again. He stops nursing looks at me and I'm thinking " Oh no now he is going to start crying". He had this huge smile on his face and went for my hair again. He did it a few times and I kept telling him "no" and patting his hand so he wouldn't do it again. After a while because I would block his hand from touching my hair, he went for my breasts. He grabbed it then pulled it, looked at my face to see my reaction. I felt like laughing cause it was pretty funny. But it was very naughty. He does that sometimes, he does something naughty even after I say "No, don't do that again". Then he'll do it again and see what my reaction is. He does that when he yells I say no he does it again and looks at me.
I haven't been faithful with the picture taking. On mothers day we went to the planetarium to watch a dinosaur documentary in the Imax. They have this garden outside with lots of duck and peacocks and Adrian just loved it. We saw a mother duck laying her eggs, I showed Adrian but I think I was more excited than he was, ha! Well He is going to turn 10 months soon! I can't wait to have his first birthday I'm already planning on the cake!! I'm such a mother. He still loves the water, we go to the pool every afternoon and that's when I do swimming lessons with him. He knows when to hold his breath and I can now let go of him in the water for about 2 seconds. He loves it! He comes out with a smile. I know that he is not choking on water because I can tell he is holding his breath. I read somewhere that babies have a natural reflex to hold their breath when in the water, but that after the age of 2 they lose that reflex. So then you have to teach them to swim another way.
